FASTFLO I - Fully Automatic CFD SysTem for inviscid FLOw simulations 

FASTFLO II - Fully Automatic System for Three-dimensional viscous FLOw simulations 

(1996-2000) 

 

The goal of the FASTFLO projects was automatising the whole "aerodynamics" loop, from the mesh generation to the reliable results of the calculation. Starting basis is the description of a complex outer shape of a complete aircraft. The development comprised mainly two parts:

  • A mesh generator for unstructured meshes (triangulisation of surfaces, pseudo-structured mesh at leading an trailing edge and in the region of the boundary layer, tetrahedral mesh in the remaining volume)
  • A flow solver
