| HISAC - environmentally friendly HIgh Speed AirCraft (2005 - ) |
HISAC is a research program, whose main objective is to establish the technical feasibility of an environmentally compliant supersonic small size transport aircraft (S4TA), through a MultiDisciplinary Optimisation (MDO) approach and focused technological improvements. HISAC is funded in the 6th framework program of the European Union. The project is led by Dassault and includes 37 partner all over Europe.
IBK contributes to different tasks in HISAC:
- IBK leads a task for forced-laminar-flow implementation on the wing. Some active methods for laminar flow control are exercised which includes distributed micro-roughness, suction and surface-cooling methods. In computational field IBK has participated on the definition of computational matrix for flow stability investigation and Euler computations to provide velocity and pressure input for stability computations. Furthermore, IBK has also developed the hardware system layout for flow suction and surface cooling and provide their performance estimation. The suction system is the simplified one in order to be industrially feasible and economically viable.
- IBK calculates the aerodynamical loads for the High-Lift Devices (slats and flaps) of the aircraft, which are needed in the dimensioning process. CFD-calculations are performed from IBK as well as from Partners, which are validated using wind-tunnel-test results. The aim is to develop a load-manual for the aircraft.
